I love a weekend that involves red velvet waffles and a pug poker face.
What a great Spring weekend full of good stuff…Finished reading ‘Catching Fire,’ a yummy shrimp and grits dinner (and my first posset!) at Lulu’s, nice walks among flowering trees, the painting of the nursery (lilac)

and working out the fabric choices for it,

a poker tournament with the boys,

and the pug participated in the Dog Jog for the SPCA.

Can’t wait to see what next weekend brings!
I know I haven’t been posting much - been too busy with Spring’s springing! Finished my March yarn bomb last week (will be installed SOON!), beginning work on the baby’s nursery with only 3 months left to go, helping celebrate a VIP’s birthday (my Mum’s!),

and finishing up some overdue projects, like this cowl duo I owed 2 friends.

Did I mention I really need this shirt?
It’s my birthday weekend - woohoo! It always falls on MLK weekend, which is a nice guarantee of a 3 day celebration. I’m spending half of the weekend out of town at my mom’s to celebrate with family and the other half in Richmond. Mom always makes whatever dinner we pick - this year I chose fondue, yum! As official family baker, I made a chocolate cake that I’d wanted to try but my 11 year old niece adorably insisted on baking something for me, too - which turned out to be a cinnamon cake. And a very nice time was had by all. Also went with Mum to see The King’s Speech at the Naro - quite good.

Then it was back to Richmond for Phase 2 of birthday weekend. The pug’s birthday is actually one day after mine, so we’ve gotten in the habit of meeting up with friends and their dogs at a dog park for sweets (for both people and pups) and celebrating. This time I made her wear the balaklava I made as last year’s birthday gift.

And let the party continue…Tomorrow is my official birthday and I celebrate with Richmond by spreading a little yarny cheer!
Last nite, K1-D2 held our annual Secret Santa exchange (Knitty Kringle) which got postponed by a December snowstorm. I drew Knit Practitioner’s name, who is now living down in St. Croix. So what to knit for someone in the tropics? A pig toilet paper roll cover!

Who got my name?

It was knit-o-phile - and she made me a very cute iPad cover.

Our hostess made a super yum Vasilopita - and I found the lucky coin in it!!! What a great way to start the New Year!
I’m taking the rest of the year off (for the most part) from knitting, posting, and being productive in any way! Hope you all enjoy the rest of your year, too!
December is here…And the holiday countdown has begun! I’d better get back to knitting!!!
Visiting Hampton Roads this weekend to check out my nephew’s game.
The pug always enjoys a good game!
The pug enjoying a little yarn shopping.
