It’s 4th of July weekend and I’m stuck being very pregnant and not able to do much. Luckily, I live close to a Farmer’s Market where I could hop over and get some good eats for the long holiday weekend…Here go some pics from my visit. Those sourdough donuts were sooooo good!

It’s almost 100 degrees here in Richmond this Memorial Day weekend…and only 1 way for a pregnant chick like me to keep cool!
My girls threw me a lovely baby shower this weekend…I’m not a shower type of girl, so it was really just all about eating

and gifts.

Feeling crafty, I made two things for it - a felt dahlia brooch to wear.

and Buns in the Oven (with homemade sticky buns).

A totally wonderful afternoon!
I had a great Easter weekend full of egg dying with the niece and nephews, Easter egg hunts with llamas and my boy,

dinner on the deck at the beach, and making carrot cake with the pug.

Obviously, my nesting instinct is showing with how I decorated the cake!
Tomorrow is my brother and his wife’s 15th wedding anniversary. My 11 year old niece had the idea last weekend to throw them a surprise anniversary party. And she’s the smartest kind of party planner - she delegated all the work to me and my Mom. I was in charge of taking her decoration shopping and making 3 desserts: cake pops,

my brother’s favorite pecan pie, and a chocolate cake.

She’s a total sweetheart but here’s hoping she’ll do all the work for their 25th anniversary!
I love a weekend that involves red velvet waffles and a pug poker face.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
You’ll find me at the end of the rainbow.
Here’s the pug send-off I got before I left for a great weekend in NYC…And some more trip shots:

What a nice Valentine’s Day weekend! I put up my latest yarn bomb on Thursday night, found out that the baby is a girl (let the knitting commence!) on Friday which was followed by a celebration lunch at Edo’s Squid, and had a great weekend and brunch with the family in Hampton Roads. Then today involves eating lots of Gearhart’s chocolates, card opening, and working on a great dinner for the boy after dropping him off some sweets at work.

Hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day, too!
It’s my birthday weekend - woohoo! It always falls on MLK weekend, which is a nice guarantee of a 3 day celebration. I’m spending half of the weekend out of town at my mom’s to celebrate with family and the other half in Richmond. Mom always makes whatever dinner we pick - this year I chose fondue, yum! As official family baker, I made a chocolate cake that I’d wanted to try but my 11 year old niece adorably insisted on baking something for me, too - which turned out to be a cinnamon cake. And a very nice time was had by all. Also went with Mum to see The King’s Speech at the Naro - quite good.

Then it was back to Richmond for Phase 2 of birthday weekend. The pug’s birthday is actually one day after mine, so we’ve gotten in the habit of meeting up with friends and their dogs at a dog park for sweets (for both people and pups) and celebrating. This time I made her wear the balaklava I made as last year’s birthday gift.

And let the party continue…Tomorrow is my official birthday and I celebrate with Richmond by spreading a little yarny cheer!
